AMY
RASHAP
Amy Rashap’s career has spanned publishing, arts
and culture, writing, fund raising, and teaching. Her
Ph.D. in folklore from the University of Pennsylvania
has given her the tools to reinvent herself a myriad
of ways: She has told stories in front of hundreds
of people; taught drama to 7- to 11-year olds (and written
a play especially for them); and given public presentations
to both academic and lay audiences. A U.S. citizen,
Ms.
Rashap lives in Singapore and holds a Q1 employment
pass. Presently, she teaches English and business English
to
students and adults, and writes. (Assignments include
grant writing for non-profit organizations in the U.S.;
articles for the American Association of Singapore
newsletter; and some travel writing.) She is also a published
author:
One of her articles has appeared in A Short Prose Reader,
a major college textbook that highlights exemplary
pieces of writing. She has written three ESL textbooks that
are being used in Taiwan.
Ms. Rashap
speaks in a low, somewhat husky voice, and she speaks clearly
and precisely, in fairly accentless
English. She is an excellent writer who can write
in a variety of styles, and she always meets deadlines.
Ms. Rashap eagerly awaits her next challenge in Singapore. |
