GARRY McALPINE
With a career in television spanning 30 years, Garry has worked throughout the Asia Pacific region, traversing the fields of education, public relations, radio and film & television.

As a student Garry was the lead vocalist in one of New Zealand more successful bands recording two original CD’s for EMI.

Garry began his professional sojourn in New Zealand as a journalist and business communicator with public relations firm Hill & Knowlton, before becoming a founding partner in Communicado, New Zealand’s first and largest independent film and television Production Company. Communicado Produced New Zealand’s most successful local film and Box Office success, Once Were Warriors, winner of 15 major international awards.

For several years (2004 – 2007) Garry was a relieving Radio talkback Host for News Talk ZB and for Radio Live in New Zealand on the 7pm-10pm evening slot.

Garry has written, produced and directed numerous award-winning documentaries, advertising campaigns and strategic communications for some of the world’s largest business corporations throughout the Asia, USA and Australasia, prior to being based in Singapore in 2009. He has also narrated several TV documentaries and news feature stories.

In 2007-8 Garry executive produced a 2 x 1 hours US$2.6 million series ‘Legacy of China’ that screened on CCTV in 2011, (see www.legacyofchina.cn/en/) and will screen on international channels later in 2011.
